#Endnote help cite if multiple word documents open update
Now in the Word document, select the EndNote menu and click on the Update Citations and Bibliography button.
If your style is not in the list, clickbon Select Another Style within the Style drop-down list and search for your style there. The results from your Library will be displayed. Type in the Authors’ name or a keyword for the reference you wish to use and click Search. Select the Insert Citation from drop down menu. Select your referencing style from the Style drop-down list, e.g. In Word Click on EndNote X9 tab and click on Insert Citation on the EndNote toolbar. Position the cursor and click the Insert Citation button. Open your MS Word document and click on the EndNote 20 tab. Search for your reference and when it is displayed on screen, click on Insert. On the EndNote Online tab, click on Find Citations. In EndNote, hold down the Ctrl key while you select multiple references. In the Word document, position the cursor where you wish to insert a citation.
With new Word document, select the EndNote menu to desired style (e.g. How do you do multiple citations in EndNote Citing Multiple Sources.
(Tip: to select multiple references, hold down the CTRL button on your keyboard and click on all the references you want to insert.) 2.
Copy and paste all the text from each document into a single new Word document (ideally in the order you prefer). In your EndNote Desktop library: highlight (select) the reference (s) you want to insert.
Repeat 2-3 steps for all the documents that need to be combined.
The EndNote citations in your text will now appear in curly brackets.
Select the EndNote tab in Word, in the EndNote menu click on Convert Citations and Bibliography button.
Open the first Word document that you wish to combine with others.
Open your EndNote library that have all the references from each Word document.
